DiscusSFLX: Bag It Movie/Discussion Feb. 25 - Is Our Life Too Plastic?

Is our life too plastic? Can we do more to reduce the scourge of plastic bags flying through the air, littering our roadways, and clogging our waterways? On February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Victor Farmington Library, Sustainable Finger Lakes, the Victor Farmington Library, and Bring Your Own Bag NY present the first event in its DiscusSFLX discussion series with a screening of the Bag It movie and discussion led by Kathy Keller of Bring Your Own Bag NY, based in Canandaigua.

The producers of the film have this to say:

Try going a day without plastic.  In this touching and often flat-out-funny film, we follow "everyman" Jeb Berier as he embarks on a global tour to unravel the complexities of our plastic world.  What starts as a film about plastic bags evolves into a wholesale investigation into plastic and its effect on our waterways, oceans and even our bodies.  We see how our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us and what we can do about it.  Today.  Right now.

Join us on Thursday, February 25, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at the Victor Farmington Library's Malone Room, for the DiscusSFLX presentation and discussion of Bag It.

DiscusSFLX™ is a new discussion series sponsored by Sustainable Finger Lakes, each event highlighted by a film, performance and/or guest speaker.
